Country Veg and Cashew Nut Roast - Artisan Grains

I have made an un-natural amount of nut loaves in my life; living at a Yoga Centre will do that to you, so while I was excited to try the Country Veg and Cashew Nut Roast by Artisan Grains I was apprehensive as well.

The first thing that I noticed about The Roast was the ingredient list, it is usually my favorite place to start looking at a product and I was genuinely surprised my how wholesome and good the ingredient list sounded. 26% Cashews, Peanuts, Oat Flour, Bread Crumb, Veggies (carrots, potato, onion, green beans, cabbage and leek) and then a variety of spices. What I really loved was that all the ingredients was actually food, no preservatives, coloring or "natural flavor". So a fantastic step away from the normal pre-made products.

The ease of making the product is the next thing I noticed. The baking dish is provided and all you need is a little water and an oven.

45 minutes later and a little extra for cooling and you have a great looking product, easy, no mess and no fuss. Brilliant!

I had a feeling even before I took my first bite that I wasn't going to be disappointed with this product, the ingredient list alone was enough to give me great hopes but after doing a little research on the company itself, my expectations were quite high.

Based in Bristol in the UK Artisan Grains was developed by Sam Jacobi. His intent was to give people a chance to have easy access to healthy grains and wholefoods without having to study the internet or read blog posts.....

Luckily for me the flavor was brilliant, not too salty but flavorful, I could easily pick out the individual parts of the dish but the ingredients sat in great harmony with each other creating a fantastic balanced final product. The consistency (which a big thing for me) was really great, balancing a great balance between firm and tender.

So for me the only downside was that I had to share it with my wife, it was a brilliant product that I would in a heartbeat buy again and again!
